THE 2009 IDMA EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The 2009 IDMA (formerly the DVDA) Excellence Awards recognize excellence in the talent, creativity, craftsmanship and application of technology in the production and authoring of standard DVD, Blu-Ray and online/interactive production. As a co-sponsor of this year’s awards, all DVPA members are eligible to enter. All submissions must be completed online by May 1, 2009.
This year, there are THREE separate divisions of Excellence Awards: CONTENT OWNER, DEVELOPER, and ONLINE/INTERACTIVE.
Each division has its own set of categories, designed to address the particular audiences served within the industry.
CONTENT OWNER EXCELLENCE AWARDS for optical discs includes titles produced for DVD-Video and Blu-ray Disc. Award categories include children’s programming, theatrical, music, games, Television series, special features and advanced interactivity/connectivity. The content owner must submit or approve all entries.
DEVELOPER EXCELLENCE AWARDS for optical discs includes titles produced for DVD-Video and Blu-ray Disc. Award categories include menus and presentation, audio/music quality, authoring design, video encoding, non-entertainment, technical achievement excellence, and advanced interactivity/connectivity. The developer must submit all entries.
ONLINE/INTERACTIVE EXCELLENCE AWARDS for web user experiences with video content produced for online streaming or download, and audio or video podcasts. Award categories include excellence in an online user experience, excellence in advertising integration, excellence in streaming video quality, excellence in download video quality, excellence in audio podcasting, excellence in SD video podcasting (under 960 pixels wide) and excellence in HD video podcasting (960 pixels wide and over).
