David's Blog: October 23, 2008

A little bit of info on me:

I am the Director of Media Assets for the DVPA, which means that I get to either create or review the content you see in our resource centers and training areas. I've only been with the DVPA in this capacity since June of 2008. Prior to that I was working with the DVPA to create training materials for programs like Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro. I'm really a hands-on guy with a passion for photography as well as videography. My new favorite program has got to be Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0. This one seriously is the stuff. I've never seen a faster, more streamlined workflow than this. I'm thinking about actually doing some training sessions on Lightroom even though the DVPA is specific to video. I believe that with today's video producer having to be web and design savvy, it can't hurt to at least be familiar with some of the photographic tools too.

Over the next two weeks we'll be gearing up for the DV Expo in Los Angeles. You can check out the most recent Newsflash (what we call our weekly podcast) and Danielle, our "DV Diva" will fill you in on the details. We'll be offering training sessions, mostly on the new Adobe CS4 and will be showcasing After Effects, Premiere Pro, Flash, Photoshop, and Encore. These sessions will be hosted by several of our DVPA trainers including yours truly. We'll also be holding a couple of sessions in the Presentation Theatre…check our booth on the show floor for schedules. Well, I'd better get back to Premiere Pro…I'm cooking up some cool stuff to show you. I hope to see you in LA. Lata!
