Adobe Photoshop CS3 is a part of the Adobe Creative Suite. The Adobe Creative Suite is a complete design solution that provides today's creative professionals with the tools they need to create and publish content for print and the web. The Photoshop CS3 label is the equivalent of Photoshop 9. Adobe has unified all their applications under the CS3 name. Please note that CS3 is the fully functional high-end version of the software.

This 3-day course provides a thorough overview of the interface, the tools, the features, tricks, and tips for using Photoshop CS3. The course is an ideal combination of instructor-led demonstration and hands-on practice.

Who Should Attend?

Adobe Photoshop has become an industry standard for so many different disciplines including desktop publishing, multimedia design, web design, digital video editing, and much more. Photoshop is often a prerequisite for many other software programs, and is the one program that everyone in every area of digital media should know.

Lesson 2: Basic Photo Corrections

Strategy for retouching, Resolution and image size, Getting started, Straightening and cropping an image, Making automatic adjustments, Manually adjusting the tonal range, Removing a colorcast, Replacing colors in an image, Adjusting lightness with the Dodge tool, Adjusting saturation with the Sponge tool, Applying the Unsharp Mask filter, Comparing automatic and manual results, Saving the image for four-color printing

Lesson 3: Retouching and Repairing

Lesson 10: Advanced Layering

Lesson 11: Advanced Compositing (Actions)

Lesson 12: Working with Scientific Images

Student Materials:

Each participant will receive a copy of Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book. The class modifies but uses chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 for the Photoshop Complete Class. The last section of Photoshop Complete is an instructor section and is not covered within the book. Other chapters and parts of chapters are overviewed in the advanced level coursework.

Presentation Method:

Adobe Certified Instructors present course lectures. Class size is limited to eight and a variety of interactive techniques and in-class exercises encourage participant learning.
